KCR Has Money For Publicity, Not To Bear RTC Losses!

It is a known fact that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had spent nearly Rs 300 crore on publicity in just two days on the occasion of the second anniversary of his government; but he has no money to offset the losses caused to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.

The TRS government imposed a burden of Rs 286 crore on people by increasing RTC bus fare, besides another Rs 1580 crore in the form of power tariffs. The money he had spent on publicity could have been given to the RTC to avoid burden on people, at least partially.

Apparently, KCR has waited till all the elections from Warangal to Khammam and GHMC to be over and then increased the power charges and bus fares, affecting majority of the people.

“On one hand KCR has been telling that the State has a surplus budget and KTR has been boasting higher revenue, then why the hike,” YSR Congress party leader K Raghava Reddy asked.
