BabuRa0
Moved by the plight of an eight-month-old toddler suffering from liver ailment since birth, the Chandrababu Naidu government on Friday announced that it would foot bill for her liver transplantation. The estimated amount is said to be the Rs 30 lakh. As we reported on Friday, the girl's parents on Thursday approached a local court in the chief minister's native Chittoor district seeking permission for mercy killing as they were unable to bear the Rs 50 lakh expenditure (including post-operative care) quoted by hospitals for her treatment. Chandrababu Naidu and health minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas announced in Vijayawada on Friday that the state government had issued instructions to the Apollo hospitals to treat the baby Gnana Sai, and claim reimbursement. Gnana Sai's father Ramanappa and mother Saraswati approached local court in Tamballapalle seeking permission for passive euthanasia. Ramanappa is a helper in a local provision store in Molakalacheruvu village in chief minister's native Chittoor district.
