Khan_Dada_ Posted July 2, 2016 Report Share Posted July 2, 2016 If your database is in mount mode, then you cannot connect as system user or any other database user except SYS. So below steps follow avvu: export $ORACLE_HOME=give the oracle home path export $ORACLE_SID=give the db name. sqlplus / as sysdba select open_mode from v$database; If the output of the above is Mounted, then do below: alter database open; select open_mode from v$database; if the output of the above is read/write, then go ahead and try again from where you left.
