Senior Network Administrator

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintain and support networking hardware and software, including but not limited to the evaluation, development, and recommendation specific network technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements

• Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions to medium and large size enterprise offices

• Monitor, manage, and tune networks to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved

• Assess business and technology initiatives, providing consultation, technical support, and recommendations to optimally utilize the enterprise network infrastructure

• Research and design reference models to standardize network architecture and manage network life-cycle planning

• Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery, creating preventative measures to deploy in the enterprise

• Create and maintain support documentation and technical drawings of the enterprise network infrastructure

Preferred Skills  Technical skills include a strong working knowledge of data communications.

• Data includes IP communications – IP services (DNS, DHCP, Bootp), routing protocols (OSPF and BGP), network security (firewalls, access list, authentication LDAP / Radius, encryption, VPN), LAN, WAN, and wireless technologies.Technical skills may also include experience with one or more of the following:

VMWare, Linux, Opnet, and network infrastructure protocols (DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS,SFTP, TACACS, RADIUS).A thorough understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP and IP subnetting is required

Soft Skills Needed  Must work well independently as well as with co-workers and be more than willing to provide suggestions / recommendations as needed.Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (technical and non-technical)
