ITServe is a cartel to throttle immigration reforms ITServe is a purported alliance of IT Service organizations in USA. ITServe has been around for a while in Texas area and started expanding it’s wings in the last few years. ITServe professes that one of it’s main agenda is to advocate for immigration reforms. There have been rumors from a long time that ITServe was formed for the exact opposite reason. A video of Rahul Reddy with cartel members from last year September right after EAD dates were moved to 2011 surfaced and this buttressed the motives of ITServe. In this video, Rahul Reddy of Reddy & Neumann group is seen goading ITServe members to file a law suit as to why EAD dates were moved to 2011. This video has been widely circulated in social media. Rahul Reddy and his law firm were clearly taken aback by the backlash and published an open letter in their website. The letter meanders, but the law firm never apologizes or explains the motives behind his comments. The letter talks about what the law firm has “done” in the past to help immigrants. Rahul Reddy claims that “He had to wait for his EAD based on his spouse’s Adjustment of Status application.” (Verbatim from open letter) Rahul doesn’t answer this basic question in his 2000 word letter — “Why is he prodding employers to file a law suit to stop EAD’s when he himself had to wait for EAD and knows the travails of the life without GC?”, but beats around the bush. Now coming back to the main participants of the cartel — “Highly Ethical IT Service organizations”. Here are some questions for these cartel members to ponder over. In the video, ITServe president, Satish Manduva, is bemoaning that average employment time is going to fall from 5 years to 1 year. Is your organization’s main motto to maintain a strangle hold on employees by throttling immigration reform? Why can’t the organization provide a value advantage so that employees will want to remain in your firms for 10 years? If one flips through the member roster of ITServe, more then 90% of companies are “Bodyshopping” companies. Very very few companies are product based and in fact a product based company doesn’t need to join this nexus as they are not concerned about retaining employees by throttling immigration reforms. Is it just a coincidence that most of the ITServe members are from same state in India? Even though ITServe claims to be an umbrella organization for all IT companies, more than 90% of companies are owned by Telugu’s and all the leadership is from Telugu community. Aren’t the cartel members using the proximity to AP government and taking sops? Recently, ITServe signed an MOU with AP Government for some space in Vijayawada and Vishakhpatnam. What “jobs” are these body shopping companies going to create back home? Except for low-end marketing teams, there are not many “jobs’ that these companies can offer. We can go ON and ON about these “ethical” companies, but everyone will appreciate if both attorneys and employees are fair and unequivocal about their objectives. — Suresh Reddy Mulakatla (Disclaimer: The opinions expressed within this article are the personal opinions of the author.
