Military units have attempted an uprising in Turkey, the country's prime minister told a Turkish broadcaster. Troops have been seen in the streets of Ankara and there have been reports of jets flying low over the city.

Can't compare with other coups man....like Syria. Turkish military is generally secular and worked hard over the decades to lessen the religious dominance and interference. Mustafa Kemal who was military person transformed the country into today's modern, secular Turkey ..more to align with Europe in development..

Under Erdogan ruling, it has become kind of religiously fundamentalist..and his support to ISIS and recent suicide bombings and etc required the military interference...
