Surprising all, Telangana senior Congress leader VH Hanumantha Rao announced that he would fight for special status to Andhra Pradesh at central level.

In a private visit to Guntur, he said that Congress was the only party committed to accord special status to AP and the same was also included in the AP Reorganization act under which Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were created.
