EarbiteNews
As expected, the private member bill introduced by Congress party’s Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao could not be put to vote, thanks to the highhanded behaviour of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Aam Admi Party came to the rescue of the BJP, which would have been in an embarrassing position had the KVP’s bill been passed by Rajya Sabha because majority members were in support of the Bill. Despite being the ruling party members, the BJP MPs stormed the podium demanding action against the AAP member who had filmed the debate in Rajya Sabha in his mobile phone and posted it on his Facebook page. Even as the members were discussing the need for special status, the BJP members continued to block the discussion demanding that the AAP MP be suspended from the House. With the din continuing unabatedly, the Chair adjourned the House to Monday. As a result, the special category status bill of KVP remained suspended.
