According to sources, the Congress high command had obtained a detailed report from the party leaders in Telangana on the Mallanna Sagar issue and felt that it had all the potential to become a national issue that would bring a lot of mileage to the party in the coming days. Truth be told, it was the UPA government which had acquired the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had effectively used it to fight against the UP government in the past.
