Can we get car Tax refund when we change title to different state

NC has highway use tax instead of sales tax. So not sure how it works.

typically when you are transferring from one state to another you wont have to pay tax again when you paid tax in a different state already. but this is assuming both states have the sales tax concept. NC is different

also like VA and IN, NC has property tax which means you need to pay a certain % of your vehicle value as property tax every year. this goes down as your vehicle ages due to depreciation

looks like use tax is only for title transfers. so you shouldnt have to pay any tax when you change registration from nj to nc

you will have the yearly property tax though
