Dreaded Maoist-turned-gangster Nayeebackn, who was killed in a police encounter at Shadnagar in Mahbubnagar district on Monday, had made tonnes of money through extortions, land settlements and forcible acquisition of lands from individuals and real estate dealers.

In any case, in the recent past, Nayeem had apparently realised that he could make big money also through media.

According to sources, a couple of months ago, Nayeem was planning to launch a television news channel and had even an advance amount of Rs 3 crore to a journalist in Nalgonda to initiate the process. However, even before the channel took a preliminary shape, he was killed in the encounter.
