Mostly it depends on the movies.

80's movies konchem classic type devotional n sentimental movies r blockbuster hits. Ex: sankarabaranam, siri vennala, aame, mathrudevobhava.

After 90's vallu movies chuse time ki anni mass movies n comedy jonors.

Graduaally sentimental, devotional movies faded out.

Puri gadu vachchaka full change. Mostly after pokiri being a full mass is heroism  just like siva is revolutionary in 80's.

Sankarabaranam, sirivennala etc movies after 2000 born vallaki chupisthe ivi ela hit ayyayi antaru. They cant even bare them for 10 mins.

So final ga people mindset vallu chusina movies meeda base ayyi untundi.

Nuvvu cheppey 'generation gap' is mostly urban/rural gap.

Urban kids are mostly smarter, and have more awareness of self and sorroundings than ones that grow up in semi urban enivronments. Hyd in the 80s, and even 90s cannot be classified as urban.

Kolkata/Mumbai/Chennai kids of the late 80s are way sharper, in general. I don't think the gap has closed yet, from what I see. Bangalore has made some strides, but not much.

I think , Indians in US are raising their kids in more indian way than Indians in india

Last week we had so many get togethers , all the kids are from US , they sing national anthem perfectly , they know how to sing devotional song

they know how to dance classical dances

they try to speak in local language , they all the relations name like athayya , mamayya , akka , bava and all varasalu

and we are teaching our daughter the same

On the other hand ikkada grown kids , they don't respect elders ( some times )  , always in front of iPad , laptop

Lol. Half of my nephews/nieces don't care to learn their language. Ofcourse they are 3rd gen immigrants.

Indian culture is vastly overrated anyway.

Once Hyd becomes an actual city, (meaning, a growing population of a few generations living there), then the differences will not be so noticeable.

The destruction of muslim high culture, and inability of Andhras/TGs to replace it with urban culture of their own has seen Hyd stay semi-urban in the 80s, and 90s. May be in a couple of decades, there won't be any noticeable generation gap.

Development doesn't mean building malls, pubs, metros, when people use them come from their villages. In fact, there's no need for malls, etc, to build a functioning city culture. But that is consumerism, and is a different topic.
