Before, she needed to face feedback for enjoying profound lip-to-lip kiss with Tamil hero Shimbu. In a still of Tamil film Vallavan, Shimbu was seen biting the lips of Nayanatara and the film makers used this still for publicity posters. It drew flak from film critics, but Shimbu was their main target. This time, it was Nayanatara who had to incur the wrath of film critics and rights activists for her lip-kissing scene in a Tamil film Tirunal. In this scene, Nayanatara presents gifts to some children.
