US lo society nundi encouragement aa? adhi just India laaga hyper nationalism. anthey. last year medalist oka ammayi ni edipinchaaru anta ga, ee saari qualify avvaledhu ani.

European countries lo govt pichha support isthaaremo. Olympics sports gurinchi perfect ga telidu. nenu follow ayye sport - tennis lo aithey picha support to players in UK/France/Germany/Spain. Even to extent of bearing cost of coaches which run into millions. But not for all. Only very promising 16-17yr olds, and when they make the grade in professional circuit.

Each country has its own model anukunta. India/US are hands off. which is not bad. India lacks infra ofcourse, but it lacks basic education infra itself. Why would anyone care for sporting facilities in schools, when there's no latrine in them?

Actually in proportion to population, US kantey higher number of medalists UK, netherlands inka europe enni countries lo unnaru ga. UK lo em support isthaaru anukunnav?

Unless you are Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt or some other awesome athlete I don't know the name of, Olympics, and world championships are hit and miss. You win some, and lose a lot.
