The report that Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has ordered that the land given to famous badminton star Pullela Gopichand be taken back has raised many an eyebrow.

Why did he do that at a time Gopichand has become all popular after his disciple Saina Nehwal won laurels in the recent Beijing Olympics?

According to sources, YSR received several complaints that Gopichand is hobnobbing with Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and is visiting NTR Bhavan very frequently.

It may be mentioned that the land was allotted to Gopichand during Naidu regime. And therefore, he has a loyalty towards TD. Even after the Beijing Olympics, Gopichand was spotted at NTR Bhavan. Perhaps, he was entertaining the idea of entering politics through TD. That made YSR angry!
