EarbiteNews Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 Telangana government has announced a cash prize of Rs 1 Cr to Hyderabadi badminton player PV Sindhu for winning the Silver medal at the ongoing Rio Olympics. Under the new sports policy announced by the TS govt. early this year, a gold medal winner at Olympics is entitled for a cash prize of Rs 2 crore, while a silver and bronze medal winner will get Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively. The cash prize to Sindhu is likely to be presented by TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao within few days. Congratulatory messages are pouring in from all the corners after Sindhu’s historic win.
