She also asserted India should cut its dependence on foreign coaches in sports. Ace gymnast Dipa and her coach were accorded a grand welcome on Monday. After a rousing reception at the airport, they were taken to Vivekananda Stadium in a motorcade. She and coach Bishweshwar Nandi travelled in an open-top vehicle as thousands, mostly students, cheered her arrival. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Ministers was among those who took part in the event. The Chief Minister announced a job promotion and cash prize for Dipa and her coach.
