Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday hoped that the accord signed with Maharashtra for construction of three barrages across Godavari, Pranahitha and Penganga rivers would open the possibilities for similar agreement with the neighbouring State in the matter of Krishna waters.

The positive vibes from Maharashtra are expected to help the Telangana Government’s demand before the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal seeking a relook at the allocation of water in the Krishna waters among the four riparian States instead of just three – Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh – since Telangana was not in existence when the tribunal submitted its report in 2010.
