I think I had already mentioned this sometime back. When the religion spreads to a huge population, then it becomes available in all kinds of shapes and sizes. There will be all kinds of interpretations. 

Indian subcontinent is the only birthplace of santana dharma (today what we call as Hinduism) and it is also one of the oldest religions. There was a golden era for Hinduism and it spread because it was accepted by many kings in the subcontinent as a religion that will keep the moral and cultural values of our society. 

But soon Buddhism emerged and then Jainism emerged because of course because our bad luck as the religion spread and trickled through generations it faded. People wanted something new as some were disappointed with the different ways the religion was forced upon them and of course with some varying interpretations some selfish people were destroyingthe meaning of it. Today what we have is a modern Hinduism which is quite different if you had a time machine and travelled to around a long time in B. C. 

Soon after some dynasties like maurya empire and one of the greatest leaders to whom we should be indebted for our unity still as one country India, Chanakya, the country fell apart. 

India with wealth and rich heritage became attractive to everyone else who were thirsty of ruling such land and people and it was an achievement. So India fell into hands of mughals and then east india empire and then British Raj. Most of these were people who had no interest in Hinduism, no interest in keeping the sanctity of it started spreading their own imported cultures. 

Some converted voluntarily because they felt they were disappointed the way they were getting treated as Hindus and some were forces either on knife point or gun point. 

Today's Hinduism is modern Hinduism. We are more like Christians in the U. S. actually but a bit more conservative. 

But Hinduism will not go away, it will take different forms but it will not go away. So will the other religions too. 

If you would have asked people during Lord Rama time how Hindus would be in 2016, they would have had no clue. 

But leaving aside the religious aspect of it which is almost secondary issue now, the primary issue we should talk about is patriotism. Our love for our country and the people of our country. 

If people think that soldiers are just doing a job then what a job they are doing...one of the best and one of the most dangerous jobs...we are not washing Chinese people's toilets because of them, we are not washing porki's toilets because of them...we are safe in our homes because of them...

"Jo shahid hue hai unki zara yaad karo kurbani" 

Finally, religions will come and go, they will change forms and shapea, but there is no bigger religion than your country, there are no bigger friends than your fellow country men. People who are disrepecting our country's flag and national anthem and our national heritage regardless of their religion are punishable and correctable.
