its the same yaar.

India is one country (another is US), where 'nationalists' (headed by idiot upper castes) campaign against their own people. For fucks sake, if you want to be racist, atleast bring everyone in your country together.

like how idiot Trump is doing. being racist, and also asking for taxes on rich to be lowered. To encourage 'entrepreneurship' @3$%

This is why both BJP and Trump will flop. To be 'nationalistic', you need support of majority groups in your nation. Idiot upper castes will never understand that. Forget muslims, lets see if they get dalit support atleast.

Peekinav tey.. Why are you even answering strangers.. We can go on and on discussing ..that's not gonna solve.. So you want India to be filthy? Atleast I'm doing something about it.. Judging is what everyone does including you.. Its OCD for everyone around.. You are telling a sort of story like its okay if someone shiats on ya cuz you are not judging them. Race is mere deliberation. The same question I can ask you too when you rant its with open eye others are half minded.

calm down. No one is trying to solve anything here. I know exactly what I'm ranting about. You, on the other hand, have no idea what you are saying.

I don't think you understood my question. I have no problem with you judging others. I asked if you are afraid of conversations with white people who judge you based on your ethnicity.

I wondered if you haven't learnt to tell such people off, and are instead directing your frustrations on fellow Indians.

He knew it wouldn't work with in one strech but they should atleast start this with govt offices, bus stations railways ...for a change to come in an individual it will take a lifetime so atleast some examples from govt may change people mind

the problem with that 'awareness' campaign is, the people who become aware, are the ones who have the luxury of being aware.

cleanliness drive is a local govt. issue. Other than the opportunity to have his name plastered all over the campaign, I don't see any use in having PM associate his name to this campaign.

He is absolutely not in control of cleanliness in India. And is not responsible if India becomes/remains unclean.

True! I don't have any idea of what I'm talking. So I will unlearn the methodical rants to be more precise on vague topics  which doesn't have any strings. Regarding white ppl, atleast they teach their kids manners. And yes I'm trying to solve something here.. I may fail so be it..

first change title. swachh bharath will not succeed because it is a stupid scheme thought of by a stupid man.

rest, why are you embarrassed for strangers? Do you have friends who judge you, based on what your countrymen or people of your color, do?

What is the reason for your frustration? Do you want the Indian ethnic groups to start acting in a mature way?

If yes, do you believe in the concept of race? If yes, why are you in the US? @3$%

You are no less then RGV

May be Modi can give details on number of toilets, garbage collection depos, central govt. constructed under this scheme.

This is the problem with conservatives, including the white ppl that don_draper mentions above. To them, everything comes under 'personal responsibility' category. And there's no such thing as community, other than when it is used to lionize ones that they love or denigrate communities they don't take kindly to.

The problem with cleanliness in India is mostly an infrastructure issue. Not just cultural. So for a PM to talk down to his citizens, asking them to keep their city cleaner, is a PM taking responsibility away from his own govt.

What is interesting is, eventually India will become clean. And some idiot BJP type will claim a 100yrs from now that the right wing nut PM Modi started this 'revolution', when it was mostly the hard work of state and local municipal govts. @3$%

I keep thinking back to scenes in Tamil/Telugu movies, where politicians do photo ops with broom in their hands for their local 'cleanliness drives'.

I cannot understand why many people think Modi is not that kind of politician.

I do not know the details of the program. To me, it seems like Modi is trying to tell people that it is good to be clean. As if they don't know about it already.

I have visited India couple times in the last few years, and I think the lack of cleanliness is an infrastructure issue, more than a cultural one. May be a bit of both. But mainly it is because of lack of infrastructure.

So when Modi says the things I read about, I assume he's trying to insult people who voted for him, by talking down to them.

I said in an earlier comment in this thread, about the problem with the point you are making. Everything cannot be pinned down to personal responsibility.

Govt. must take the first step, actually 100 steps, before it asks its citizens to take one.
