There is no need to worry. You can go and get your License renewed with valid I-94. There is one new rule by the US Govt to renew the License irrespective of your pending petition.

Naa extension July 2015 lo file chesthe, June 2016 lo approve aindhi, adhi kuda 1 year....malli July 2016 lo premium lo apply chesthe 1 week lo approved for 3 years

Pending i-797 receipt theesukelthe 240 days emo istaru license. It is written in their book. No need to go for premium h1 process.

Receipt notice tho 180days temporary license isthadu man... You dont need drive with expired licence.
