daniki pettina karchu one or two years lo return vachidi krishna delta lo.. so money is not wasted.

Vijayawada: Krishna delta is turning into a rain-fed area with the prevailing drought conditions and fall in water levels in reservoirs of Krishna river. It is said while more than 40 per cent of farmers gave up cultivation with the drought conditions and the remaining farmers are unable to continue cultivation under borewells. 

 

In the kharif and rabi seasons, majority of the crops in 15 mandals of Krishna district were cultivated under 22,733 borewells. The farmers used 13.22 tmcft of ground water to save their crops as there is no water supply from Krishna river.  The State government also provided 24 hours power supply to help the farmers to pump the groundwater and the Godavari water was diverted to Krishna delta through Polavaram right main canal, to save the crops. 

 

The crops in 15 mandals including Avanigadda, Challapalli Ghantasala, Gudivada, Kankipadu, Mopidevi, Movva, Pamarru, Pamidimukkala, Pedaparupudi, Penamaluru, Totlavallur, Ungutur, Vijayawada rural and Vuyyur were protected through groundwater. The crops in total area of 98,426 hectares in all 15 mandals were saved by using 25.41 tmcft of groundwater. 

 

Meanwhile, the State government is also successful in bringing 8.80 tmcft of Godavari water to Krishna river. The officials released 37.41 tmcft of water to eastern and western delta to save the crops. It may be noted here that the State government declared 50 mandals in the district as drought-hit.

Yeah that looks like an ideal scenario everyone is telling krishna lacks when Godavari is overflowing so in that case definite ga pattiseema is helpful to krishna delta
