I am not against militarization at the moment. Even the local govt supports it.

I just told the other guy that casual suggestion that Kashmiris let this happen to themselves is unwarranted. What they need is our sympathy mostly. Not our scorn. They are the victims. Not us. Thats all.

you may find it easy to neatly categorize people into those who don't pick up guns, and those who do. But I ask, how do you treat people who don't pick up guns, but use social media to voice their concerns? Not you, just the regular rest of India? What is the incentive to not pick a gun, other than to save themselves from a horrible death?

all my sympathy with kashmiris if they leave the path of islamic radicalization. but that won't happen and its too late now. there is hell lot of difference between using social media vs picking a gun to vent frustration. the former is anyday better.

Bigots are there in every religion no doubt in hindus too, thats a problem and should be dealt with.but nothing is comparable with islamic bigotry and its a fact.

case1 - all the nonsense the hindu hardliners do

case2 - a group of ten well educated urban middle class hindus  in delhi/mumbai take ak47s go to a posh bakery, take hostages and then ask people to recite hanuman chalisa, those who don't and can't prove they are hindus are gunned down.

now case1 is an extremist problem that needs to be dealt strictly and can be dealt. but case2 is something i think would never happen based on my understanding but if it at all happens would scare the daylights out of me. now this is something that is out of control and very dangerous and i would be first to change my view about religious bigotry.

Do u see the difference between both cases. they are not comparable.case2 is something that just happened in dhaka.

Kashmir is like any other Indian state. Selfish leaders, corrupt bureaucrats, too many unemployed youth, but with the extra problem of militancy. I have as much hope in Kashmir as I have in any other Indian state. Which means, a lot of hope. Kashmir is not lost. we should stop hammering kashmir.

Hindu religious bigotry won't get that far in the near future, because Hindutva won't catch on. if it does, I give a century for radical Hindus to behave like how radical muslims do these days.

hindu bigotry i feel is more reactionary to islamic bigotry. if latter increases, the former will follow. if latter decreases the former will too. because hinduism as a religion and texts doesn't have anything against other religions to motivate people. can't say the same about islamic tenets.

kashmir i think is a gone case or it needs miracle to recover. kerala is next in line with increasing mus population and  recent incidents from there point to it.i maybe i am over-reacting to few incidents but going by the past record it cannot be ruled out.
