Yes. It is the Silicon Valley of Hardware. More than half the companies in Shenzhen are not making any money, and exist just to make up fancy numbers.

Anyway now Shenzhen is just like huge component shopping mall. Most of the manufacturing has shifted to Guangzhou.

I can't think of more than a few successful hardware products that were incubated in Shenzhen. Oculus, for all its 'blockbuster' virtual reality product, is now swamped in a market where several players are giving away such products for free.
