Spartan
After Justice Lodha Committee directed banks to freeze accounts of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian cricket board is reportedly mulling cancellation of the ongoing New Zealand series. As per a report in Indian Express, a senior BCCI official said that they have no option other than to call off the India-New Zealand series as our banks have decided to freeze BCCI accounts. "We are unable to make payments to players as the accounts are frozen," sources told CNN-News18. The move by the BCCI comes as a reaction to Lodha panel’s letter to the banks, urging them to not give BCCI access to funds. The letter was addressed to BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke, CEO Rahul Johri and Treasurer Anirudh Choudhary.
