why do people commit violent crimes during riots / massacre

watched a movie about some riots  , just felt that humans have that inherent animal instinct and are bound by society and social structure , and when they get opportunity they just show of their true animal instinct. and most politician try to take advantage of this and create a situation like this

so sad when you hear how innocent  people die just for no fault of theirs

the anonymity emboldens them. being part of a mob, gives them a feeling that their cause is just, even if they end up hurting others. For some who search for a platform to vent their anger, riots are a good excuse. So is the internet.

politicians, for the most part, try to avoid such things from happening. But if your ideal politician is Modi, then I understand why you think all politicians are like that. In reality, Modi is a scumbag, and an exception to the general decent politician in a civilized society.
