Zhang Yin, nicknamed “the queen of trash”, is one of the richest woman in the world. She’s a self-made billionaire from China with a net worth of over $4 Billion. Wonder how she makes her fortune? By recycling.

Zhang Yin is the founder and director of Nine Dragons Paper Holdings. Her company makes money by taking waste paper from the United States and Europe, shipping it to China and recycling it into cardboard, which is then used for boxes that are packed with toys, electronics and furniture that are stamped "Made in China" and then shipped back to western consumers. After those boxes are thrown away, the cycle starts all over again.

The company raised almost $500 million in an IPO in March 2006 at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. By 2009, the firm invested $800 million and more than doubled production capacity, becoming the largest maker of packaging paper in the world. The firm entered 2011 with revenues of US$3.8 billion, 17,000 employees and the capacity to produce nine million tons of containerboard and packaging materials per year.
