Students served rasam filled with insects as mid-day meal in Telangana

The incident came into view after parents of Peddachikodu primary school located at Siddipet district's Dubbaka town staged a dharna at the institution

New Delhi, November 3: In yet another instance of the unhygienic mid-day meal came into light, the boys hailing from Telangana's Siddipet district found insects in rasam served for them during the lunch break.

The incident came into view after parents of Peddachikodu primary school located at Siddipet district's Dubbaka town staged a dharna at the institution on Wednesday.

88 students out of 100 students were present on Wednesday when students vomited after noticing insects in rasam.

The scheme organizers were also accused of providing non-boiled eggs as part of the meal.

After receiving the information, MRO Aruna and MEO Venkatayya immediately reached the school and tested the rasam and confirmed that insects were there in the rasam provided by them. They also assured the parents that strict action will be taken against the wrong doers.
