KRCR reports the letters were sent out by a Shasta High School student just a day after Donald Trump was announced as president-elect.

Shasta High School Unified School District Superintendent Jim Cloney said the student recorded himself handing out the letters and posted the video on Twitter.

The student claimed it was a joke, but others don’t see it the same way. “It’s not a joke. It’s not funny. You are making fun of my family, you’re making fun of my friends and it hurts,” said concerned parent Mellissa Fraizer. “People need to think twice before they open their mouths because it’s not who you are.”

Cloney said the video has since been removed from Twitter. He added the school will not tolerate this type of behavior. According to KRCR, it’s not clear what actions were taken by the school, if any, to discipline the student.
