Be okay with short term contracts, having a job is more important that having none.

Also be okay with going to F2F on your expenses, but be very well prepared to crack them most of the time. Unfortunately this is the present day situation.

I have 7 years real time experience but had to change 2 jobs this year itself. It is what it is.

Also one more thing I have noticed is that clients are expecting exceedingly high performance from you if you are on H1B even if they pay you peanuts.

The same isn't the case if you have a GC or are a citizen. I was let go from one job this year because of one mistake I had done, and the second one ended because the client's expectations were unrealistic and I couldn't meet them.

Needi technology enti? Ippude concluded client ki automation expert kavalanta, python lo. I never used Python before and never mentioned using Python on my resume, don't know what made him assume that.

So vadichina tasks lo ne clarity undadu sarigga, with what I have learnt in python I tried. But he wasn't happy, end of story. Tried to hire a python expert but couldn't find anyone anywhere. None of my friends are experts either. :)

Bro Front end you can learn easily if you are good with Java right. CodeAcademy lo choodu, I took CodeAcademy Pro for $20/month they have a course on Full Stack Developer including Angular.js, React.js etc.

Big Data lo learn some Apache Spark. That should put you ahead of the competition and fetch you a good billing rate.

It's not that they demand high performance from H1s. It's just that most contractors are H1s and managers are relying on and expecting more from contractors lately to reduce their operating costs. They want work done but don't want to put pressure on their  Full-TIme team and have high attrition. If it is contractor, no one cares. They can hire and fire whenever they want.

You might be right. The manager offered me a Full time 3 weeks ago, after I said no to that he started micro managing everything. His behavior totally changed after I said NO to their FT offer.
