why will it be gone man? whatever was informal cash transactions (without tax) can now be done in white using checks cards etc all of which will be taxed and money to govt. just becoz cash is withdrawn doesn't mean no transactions can take place. only black transactions cannot take place

you keep making the same point again and again. you want transactions in the rural market to happen through cards and checks?

as far as India is concerned, when cash is withdrawn, it does mean that transactions won't take place.

Which again brings us to the question. What was the point of GST then? if not to include taxation at all levels and for all goods and services?

I doubt govt. expects that much money to not be deposited to the banks.

also govt. can print money for infrastructure or recapitalization if they chose to. This is a long winded exercise, that gives misery to the common man.

the amount of currency a country can print is dependent on its gold, forex reserves and demand for your currency in international markets.

now rbi has 14 lakh crore digital money that it can print, circulate etc. if all circulation money was white then dec 31st all bank in india should have 14 lakh crore old moneydeposited.

but since all money is not not white, the black part will not get back to banks. even the informal money, fake currency also wont.  but rbi has that excess new money i can print and govt can use it

who says the black part won't get to the banks?  do you think black money hoarders will simply burn their cash?

however some part of the cash won't get into the system for whatever reasons. It won't be as high as 3-4lakh crores.

note ban is 1 time wipeout of black money generated so far. but gst will reduce further generation of it, coz all transaction will now be declared and cannot be hidden. exporters and importers cannot under/over invoice . govt will collect more taxes.
