Sant'Agata dei Goti is a town 35 km NE of Naples, in the Campania region

It has a very ancient history dating back to the Samnites, about 400 BC. It lived stages of development and decline. The village was inhabited by Samnites, Romans, Huns, Normans, Goths; However, but nowdays most of the monuments visible are mainly Norman or French, in fact, the village belonged to the De Goth family from which probably it takes its name.

The picturesque medieval town is perched on a sheer bluff high above a river gorge.

The town is Bill de Blasio's grandfather's hometown. The grandfather of the mayor of NYC left the town in 1905.

Infiorata -  Flower show

Infiorata is a festival staged annualy on the day of the Corpus Domini. Streets along the route of the religious procession marking the day are covered in flower petals in patterns that change every year.
