we are beyond the point of discussing whether the move is good or bad. 

The issue now is, people don't have money in their hands. The govt doesn't have new currency notes ready yet. by all estimates, they won't be ready by Dec 31st too.

Modi lied about 50 days. Most educated guesses are that cash withdrawal limits will still be in place beyond Dec 31.

economy going 'digital' is neither feasible, nor safe. Not with the level of illiteracy in India.

govt had to print new note sand they just had few months to do it. so what should they do? print 100 notes? ir 500 note?

 it takes (20) 100 re notes and (4) 500 re notes for a single 2000 note. one reason is saving printing cost and also saving time as they had very little of it. imagine the time for 20 notes vs 4 notes vs 1 note. that was the logic behind it.so whoever want to make high purchases will use 2000 note.

do you even understand that there's no point in printing this 2000rs note, when majority people use 500?

500 is the lifeline of Indian economy. where are the 500s? and why are there so many mistakes in the new 500s that were printed? Modi is setting new records for incompetency and you guys should be tired of defending him.

looks like you are saying Indian people should adjust their purchase habits according to the whims and fancies of the supreme leader.

And it is not govt's responsibility to make sure the suffering is minimal. Also, no one should question govt's idiocy. good.

If modi govt is genuine intention of  getting black money .. why not release the list of names of swiss bank account holders which was given by swiss banks to indian govt in 2011. Cong didnt release it BJP didn't release it .. ? why not arrest the ppl or ask them to pay penality for  having black money accounts .. ( bcoz these so called industrialist ( ambani, adani, tata give party fund to BJP / cong ) and inreturn  Cong / Bjp dont persue any cases against them and do favoritism ... ...

you seem to be a firm believer of what ever nonsense that arvind forgerywaal talks....there is a reason govt cannot release the names at this point. if they release names,the foreign govt in whose banks black money is stashed will stop co-operating then. the cases are still going on so there is a stay on revealing those names. the foreign banks/govt gave names to india only after india agreed they wont release names until they are convicted. now why they agreed to this is debatable.

the foreign black money is not in our govt jurisdiction and they have little control over it. i would be very surprised if we can really get all the black money stashed abroad. so what is in our jurisdiction we need to do first instead of cribbed what we cant do.
