Union Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said here on Saturday that it was the Reserve Bank of India that recommended scrapping of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes.

“It is not demonetisation. It is a wrong expression. Our government has only taken the decision upon a recommendation of the Reserve Bank of India, which is the authority to take the decision that notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 will not be legal tender. It is not demonetisation in the classical economic sense,” he said.

The entire thing reeks of incompetence. 

Anyway, I heard people (small traders) are still using the old currency notes, and probably will continue using them. Otherwise if they listened to this idiot, economy would have come to a standstill long back.

This loser may even start a war just to save his face post Dec 30, when people will start expecting for withdrawal limits to be lifted.

Just notes ban is not enough. There needs to be follow up steps on binami real estate , gold , corruption etc. Lets see how well modi executes those.

Yes. Trying something is better than doing nothing. It might or might not work. In this case it did caused some troubles for common people. But they wont mind it if eventually they get benefit out of it.

Yes, Even after notes ban , left and right abuse chesaru rules ni. Lets hope there will be some investigations into this. Otherwise troubles common people faced will go useless.
