Telugu Mom and Son died in Car Crash in US

In a tragic incident in United States, a Telugu Family met with a fatal accident in Eastern Missouri state on 27^th November.

 

As per the Missouri state Highway patrol crash report, Robert S Batson (26), Sushma Settipalli (32) and Mahidhar Settipalli(2) were killed in the crash. Five other sustained injuries.  The victims and the family are returning from a friend’s housewarming ceremony in Michigan in a Minivan.  A drunk American named Robert S Batson came in a wrong direction and crashed into the van that the family is in. All of the deceased subjects were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The rest of the injured were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by various local ambulance personnel.

 

They included Chinmayee Gullapalli (23) Atlanta, Ga., listed with moderate injuries; Tagore Gullapalli, 21, Plano, Texas, listed with minor injuries; Keerthana Settipalli, aged 5, Plano, Texas, listed with serious injuries; Ratnakur Settipalli, 39, Plano, Texas, listed with serious injuries; and Vaishnovi Yerneni, 22, Houston, Texas, listed with moderate injuries. The crash occurred Sunday, Nov. 27, just after 3:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate 44 near the 236. mile marker.

 

Sushma Settipalli and her husband Ratnakar Settipalli moved to Plano, Texas 8 years ago. The couple are from Indupalli in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.

 

Ratnakar's cousin named Kiran Koganti has initiated a 'Settipalli Fund' crowd funding campaign on www.gofundme.com to raise funds to send Sushma and Mahidhar's bodies to their native village.  Even though the target of $250k US Dollars has reached, on can still donate and the fund goes to the family.
