Although ACICS is no longer a federally recognized accrediting agency, the Department may provisionally certify ACICS-accredited institutions for continued participation in the federal student aid programs for up to 18 months from the date of the Secretary's final decision. This 18-month provisional certification period allows institutions to seek accreditation from another federally recognized accrediting agency.& During this period of provisional certification, the Department will require the ACICS-accredited institutions to comply with additional conditions that are designed to protect students and safeguard taxpayer dollars. These conditions include additional monitoring, transparency, oversight and accountability measures.

If your school’s SEVP certification has been withdrawn, you will receive a letter from SEVP. SEVP will send the letter to the U.S. address your school has listed for you in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and will explain your options for maintaining your student status. Please follow the SEVP guidance provided in that letter by the given date. If you have any questions, contact the SEVP Response Center:

  • Telephone: 703-603-3400 for general and case-specific questions
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, except holidays.
  • Please note that the SRC closes for maintenance and testing on Wednesdays from 12:50 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. ET.

At times, SEVP issues specific student guidance for certain schools. If your school is listed below, please click on your school’s name to see the additional information provided.
