F1 OPT's have flooded the market...but eventually, the flooding has stopped this year and its a controllable commodity...

and..What exactly you mean by handful of them ? Let me explain in numbers what exactly it means by handful.

Most people who have applied GC's before 2006 have got their GC's...and they are in no competition for us.

From 2007 onwards, 65000 people each year came to USA, till date it's 650,000. And we have 20,000 MS quota that makes 200,000 quota till date. In total 650,000 plus 200,000.

that makes 850,000, add some more L1'guys, family applications, other chillara lolli and make it a round figure million.

Technically we have a million workforce in USA from other countries since 2007. and we mean it, we have a million workforce in USA from other countries only and we can expect about 80% are Indians, mainly f1 students and majorly manufactured by indian outcourcing companies.(cheap labour).

Demogrhapic changes : lets assume since 2007, 40-45% might have married already and started family and this year we cann expect another 10-20k wickets down.

Out of million workers, say 200k already got married by now and they make 200,000 EAD eligible ready to traumatize the market.

but we still have another 800k to get married in the next few years push their spouses to work..eventually..

These 800k are ready to flood the market, if not all, atleast 50% we can expect them to hit the IT market. that puts the number at staggering 200,000. Now just imagine a labour force of 200,000 without any restrictions and hot commondity int he market next only to USC and GC, think where the H1B's will stand..

Now, When it comes to OPT's flooding the market, they only have max of two years before they get on to H1B in 20,000 quota so eventually, minior effect on the market but eventually these OPT's will either end up in the quota adding to the h1b workforce or leave back to India, there is no other chance other than to become illegal which are no way in competetion to us. SO, what is the problem with OPT's ? they are part of work force.

I mean...janalu iyalarepu istam vachinatu matladutunarru..but, kastha analysis chesthe telustadi nijam endi anetidi..

pendalu udyogalaku vastunaru jagratho...mee udyogalu vesukoni potunaru jagaratho...

One thing is you gotta accept it that this was a genius stroke on part of the US to eventually make the immigration here less lucrative. I mean think of this, USCIS knew that there are colleges that are just degree mills like SVU, NPU etc. However, they gave visas by the hundreds to people attending these colleges knowing that in a few years these people would flood the market making the situation pathetic for existing H1Bs.

But the only they can make the H1B visa less lucrative is to make the wages hit rock bottom, which they have been able to do via flooding the market with so many F1s. They know very well the fact that 95% of the people that come here on F1 only come because it's a gateway to emigrate to the US and that they don't intend to return to their own countries post graduation. They also know that these people a predominant number of them atleast have no option but to fudge their resumes and compete for cheaper wages with the existing H1Bs.

The intention is to make the H1B visa so unattractive that you would end up leaving this nation and getting out, thereby making sure that there are more jobs available to the locals in the market. This is an indirect way of doing it. Either work at slave wages or stand out and be in the top 5% of all H1Bs so you could raise above the filth.

I have worked with Teksystems at one of their clients place for 2 and a half years in the past. I have a good friend of mine who's a recruiter there, we used to hang out for drinks and play some tennis.

Podunna call chesa edo Christmas wishes chebudamani advance ga, and spoke about how the IT job market has been etc this year. I told him it's been the worst job market I have seen in the past 7 years as far as the billing rates are concerned, and here's what he said(in his own words)

"This year has been the worst we've seen in terms of the billing rates, and a primary reason for that is because the managers have ample choices in terms of hiring people at a much lesser billing rate than ever before. After H4 EADs have flooded the market this year, client managers have realized that they could relegate most mundane and reduntant tasks to them. Apparently there are people working at client places on H4 EADs as programmers for as little as $12/hour. So the margin for vendors has increased tremendously and both the client and the vendor/implementation partner are able to show a much bigger bottom line(costs saved etc). The only losers happen to be the contracts who are on H1B. For one thing, most clients aren't even looking to hire them since they know they can't pay them below a certain wage but they can do that with H4 EADs".
