I-T raids ----minister's friend ata

The sudden raids conducted by the income-tax department authorities on the offices and residences of Gunasekhar Yadav, former member of the Medical Council of India, in Tirupati, are understood to have landed Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Affairs P Narayana.

The IT officials raided the house of Mr Yadav in Bhavaninagar of Tirupati. Simultaneously, the IT raids were conducted on the residences of his family members, friends and close associates in MR Palli, Auto Nagar, Bairagipatteda and LS Nagar.

A total of 27 officials from the department participated in the raids. While the estimation of the property is yet to be revealed, the raids went on even on Wednesday.

It is strongly believed that Gunasekhar could be the benami of Narayana. Based on the information given by him, the I-T officials conducted raids even on some properties in Nellore, allegedly belonging to Narayana.

It is rumored that Yadav has accumulated huge unaccented assets with the help minister Narayana. 'Anticipating that Yadav could lead the IT officials to him, Narayana has already started lobbying at party supremo and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to divert the sleuths using his influence in Delhi,' say some reports. 

However, the I-T authorities have not made any disclosures to the media. May be, there is some background negotiation to hush up the case, say sources.
