The Beliebers in India may have a reason to rejoice! The new year has ushered in a good news for the fan community as the Canadian pop star Justin Bieber may visit India soon.

Mumbai Mirror reports that Bieber will perform live in a concert held in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai this May. The visit to India will be a part of his Purpose tour in Asia. The other cities where he is scheduled to perform as a part of this Asia tour are Tel Aviv in Israel and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a report by Elle India.

While his visit to India will be just for a day for the concert, it is nonetheless a great development in the process of importing Hollywood singers for gigs in India. Last year, the British band Coldplay performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai, much to the delight of music buffs.

A report by the Times of India last year suggested that Bieber and Miley Cyrus may perform in a gig in Nagpur in May 2015 but clearly, that did not work out. Thus, it is too soon to say if Bieber will pay a visit to India this May until a word of confirmation is out from the agency of the pop star.

In case he does, it will be an exciting event to look forward to, not just for the Beliebers but also for Bieber himself. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon in 2012, Bieber had explicitly stated his love for Indian food. He should be looking forward to gorging on some spicy delicacies if he visits the country this May.

Watch this space for a confirmed word on Bieber's visit and the details of his concert.
