People need to get over the myth that H1B visa holders are cheap or cheaper labor. They are not because the federal government carefully monitors H1B salaries requiring adjustments to ensure they are within guidelines. Additionally never in my 20+ years have I seen experienced workers in the US replaced with H1B workers. I have seen H1B workers replace attrition but that was because they were the most qualified. Speaking of qualification I see so few qualified naturalized or native born citizens in the area of system software engineering...less than 5% by my estimation. Maybe somebody should focus on the supply side of the equation by investing in education. Just my 2 cents worth.
