How is life there? Im planning to apply jobs there and want to know  what is the decent pay rate hourly we can ask vendors to my employer. I work 80/20 so is 70 a good rate in atlanta? Please advice

70 rate from employer ? so you get 70/hr or 80% of 70 (56/hr) ?

56 is a very decent rate, if you earn more than 110K it Atlanta it is a good city to be in.

Rents are from 1200-1500 in good areas for 2 bed room, you get houses for around 270-500 K is you plan to purchase one. Traffic can be a problem so rent a house near to office.

Just curious is you earn 56/hr what becomes yearly package ? I am on fixed salary so just curious.

56 * 2080 hours on avg = 116k no bonus + no vacation + no insurance

$80-90k.. close to 80k if your employer provides excellent benefits like upto 5% 401K matching, minimum 10% bonus, insurance at very cheap prices for your family etc. If the benefits are so-so to average, then $90 k.

before 2014, this was the formula we used to follow.. 

if FT Salary * 1.3 < (consulting per hr rate * 2000), then consulting better

if FT Salary * 1.3 > (consulting per hr rate * 2000) > FT Salary * 1.5, then think about other concerns like city, consulting project duration etc. 

if FT Salary * 1.5 > (consulting per hr rate * 2000), then not even a question. kallu moosukuni FT teeuko.

 

Last 2 years nundi this formula is no longer valid. H1b rate fee baaga ekkuva ayindi and lot of people are getting only 1 yr extension. Every year h1k 6-8k pettukovali ante doola teerutundi.  Plus health insurance okati.. thadichi mopedu avtundi family unte.

Max pay will be 130k for ft jobs with 10years experience in atlanta
