Although Andhra Pradesh state government had agreed to exempt Entertainment Tax to TDP MLA Balakrishna-starrer Gautamiputra Satakarni, only recently the state government had passed the GO officially. When media asked I&PR Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy about it, Palle reasoned that the government had waived off Entertainment Tax considering the historic significance of Telugu warrior Satakarni and his connection to Amaravati.

When a few media persons asked that any cabinet ministers have questioned the move, Palle joked, "Does anyone have dare to oppose Balayya?"

It can be recalled that AP state government had rejected the proposal of tax exemption to  Gunasekhar's Rudhramadevi and the writer-director recently shot off a letter to AP CM seeking clarification and questioned how his film was denied the tax waiver whereas Krish's historic epic Gautamiputra Satakarni was given.

Responding to it, Palle said that Rudhramadevi was more connected to Telangana unlike Satakarni. On the whole, this turned out to be an advantage for the makers of GPSK. Meanwhile, Telangana government is yet to officially issue the GO.
