More than being racist some of them are outdated beliefs and seem to have stemmed from ignorance. Let me guess, a lot of those people must be predominantly from a blue collar working background and most might not have even had a high school education. 

The best way to fight ignorance and racism isn't being one ourselves but by having a good sense of humor. I can't recall the number of occasions where I have defused tense situations by being casual and have an air of idgaf attitude, a lot of times these people ended up becoming good conversationalists and parted always on good terms.

Depends on the person man. I had a long distance relationship with a white girl from Carmel, Indiana. She was very sweet, I met her twice and she had nothing but the deepest of love for me for a while. Long distance didn't work over long term though, it's okay I moved on and so did she. 

I still to this day think her love for me was honest. So don't generalize, there are some idiots everywhere. But all in all, Americans are some of the most honest people you would find in this world.
