that is the wrong misconception. Employer match cheyyakapoyina, put your maximum limit in 401k. Its 18k per year pre tax and your taxable income comes downs which saves you lot tax.

H1 meeda that too contracting meeda ilanti vatilo sign up avvadam waste i think. If u facec any visa issues and have to go back then process of getting 401k money from india is not simple. chala process and tax paper work (usa, india both countries tax) and early withdrawal penalty inka address lu changes avanni untay. antha bagane ayyi ikkade withdraw chesukunte no problem but india nundi cheyalante thala noppi.

Also contracting vadiki job consistent undadu so how can he/she contribute every month and employer contribute cheyadu.

Pre tax contributions cheyali but open ended and any time from any where easy ga withdraw chesukunela unte good. Other wise will end up with lot of paperwork n headache to withdraw our own money

come up with a great menu for a food truck.

A fusion of indian-american mix.

chicken,lamb,beef biryani

chipotle style burritos - chicken,lamb,beef

kabobs

grilled cheese burgers

sides:

curly masala fries

samosas

gol-gappas

sweets:

putarekulu

jamoon

jilebis

40-50k for food truck

10k for all licenses

50k for next 2 months running capital.(raw material, truck repairs, rents, salaries)

lunch and dinner menus, should run around downtowns, festivals, campuses,

target sales for day should be 2200.00$ minimum.

implement it with passion, you are looking at profits around 200k a year.

if you are in h1, I would not at all suggest for any investment in us........buy any agricultural lands or plots in india.......evvaru leru konatam lo help cheyyataniki ante, I would suggest you to transfer that money to your nre acct, and keep it in fdr's......something is better than nothing.....fdr is safe option, you will get 7% interest and this at is not txable.......

Ya right.

Few things for NRI status ppl:

you can not buy agricultural lands on your name in india as an NRI.

FD interest amount on NRE account is not taxable in india but it is taxable in usa like 1099-INT so you need to calculate that fd interest yearly wise and mention in your tax returns in usa, it will be added to your annual income in usa and taxed.

nothing to worry. Even if you move to India, there are some ways.

Converting 401k -> Traditional IRA-> Roth IRA

redeem cheskovachu like you would pay only 10% penalty and no tax in USA. Indian government ki tax kattalsina avasaram ledu for 2 yrs i guess. Will dig into more details.
