To be honest, Brahmins as a whole are fighting the wrong battle. Hinduism isn't going to respect them or acknowledge them in anyway, one thing that people fail to understand is that the social policy that was in place in the past wasnt' something that Brahmins alone came up with it was put in place after acknowledgment from pretty much almost every other social group/caste/samajika vargam of that day. So it's wrong to only place the blame on Brahmins for treating certain people of a different caste in an inferior manner. A lot of this is also revisionist propaganda.

That said, Brahmins should use whatever intellectual faculties they have and try to dissociate themselves with the concept of Indian nationality. India doesn't want them, like them or respect them whatsoever. The day they dissociate their Indian identity they will improve in every way. There's no future for Brahmins in India, quit the temples, quit the rituals, quit associating yourself in anyway with Hinduism. Then maybe we can talk about how to improve your social mobility.
