US to Hyd apudu, not everyone will carry too much of luggage, and some might be light fliers...

It is not just about one person , a person who carry's 3 to 4 kgs overweight will think what will happen 

think about 200 to 300 people carrying around 3 to 4 kg extra , it would go up to a ton 

Now the flight lift weight should be carefully calculated , other it can't have good lift and could have crash too 

So weight limit is just for your safety

Emirates or any middle east airline will behave in this manner only with people from the sub-continent as they know that we do not have cheaper options than what they are offering! I was asked to pay additional baggage charge for 3lbs over 50lbs in one of my check in baggages if I dint want to go thru the hassle of re arranging my check in bags with 50 lbs!!

if this thing happened in Dubai on your way to either India or to US , its understandable.

They are trying to stop folks whose point of origin is from dubai, who bring more than allowed weight on to the flight.
