People get more margins by doing T&M and fixed bid implementation projects with clients. We bid for 150K for a federal client in DC while Deloitte & other firms bid for 200K+. We got the project and finished it in 3.5 months with 1 resource. Project principal saved 100K and used part of that money to remodel his house. But not easy to get projects unless you have references and contacts.
