There is nothing new in this article...

if there was anyone else in Kavipriya's place, they would also done the same thing...issue a statement saying I do not want to disturb the grieving family and would like to set up these charities with the money raised thus so...

There is pressure growing from all the corners about the money thus raised and purpose of the money. Its on the radar, everyone now feels or at least the majority feels this is completely unethical..

But she doesn't have to reply. She can do whatever she wants with that money. 

I just finished a course on ethics and I actually brought up this point in my class discussion. While most whites supported that lady, some said if she has any ethics, she need to respond to people and use that money for good cause. But it is up to her.

Yeah it is up to her ethics, between she does deserve a GC under these circumstances.

Rules ala unnayi man, she is eligible for gc as per one of the uscis rule.
