LOL.. nenu kuda GPSK evening chai time lo chusa.. and Baliyo told same..  but other states celebrate it with different names... I don't think it has to do with GPSK...

its based on the season changes and climatic conditions..

May be he coined the term "Yuga Aadi" .. but this festival is based on Hindu calendar and change of  tithi and start of new Hindu Calendar..and Ugadi is the first day of the first month Hindu Calendar month Chaitra.

This is the day Lord  Brahma started his creation...
