Why is Pelli Choopulu director upset?

Pellichoopulu was among the best hits of 2016. The film was acclaimed for content, taking and taking. Also, it made huge profits. But, the film did not get even a single award in both the award functions held recently. An upset director Tarun Bhaskar couldn’t contain himself and said all the awards are only for showing off stardom. Coming as it is from a young and upcoming director, the comment is sure to ruffle quite a few feathers.
